The dropping of the two atomic bombs on Japan is justified due to the severe casualties caused by the bombing of pearl harbor. ââ¬Å"On watch with the Shore Patrol until 0400 in the morning when I turned in at my room at the Alexander Young (hotel) in Honolulu: About 0800, my slumber was disturbed by explosions and sounds which closely resembled gunfire.â⬠On the morning, December 7, 1941, Japan had surprised the world by attacking the United States at Pearl Harbor.
